This season, we’re making a great thing smaller with the introduction of our Mini Sling Backpack. One of our most unique and versatile designs, the Sling converts easily and fluidly from a backpack to a tote with the pull of a strap. Since its debut in 2015, its inventive silhouette has resonated with our customers, and so in response we’ve created the Mini Sling.

It’s partially a response to the growing popularity of smaller bags. But more importantly, according to our creative director Lindy McDonough, it’s also “the perfect piece for people who want the ease of a tote or backpack without the bulk.” Just like the original full-size Sling, the Mini has a double-layered leather base to ensure its durability through any number of adventures and underscore our lifetime guarantee, as well as solid brass hardware for functionality and aesthetic appeal. 

We finished our first official run of Mini Slings just recently, around the same time as our Arc Shoulder Bag moved through its final stages in our studio. We’re currently making it in five colors — black, rosewood, ochre, clay, and natural — just in time for the warm-toned autumn season. As Lindy says, “[The Mini Sling] walks the fine line of not being too big, nor too miniature,” so from toting around apples at the orchard to carrying keys and an extra sweater during an early-morning bike ride, it’ll be ready for whatever the coming months bring.
