Miles & Miles: Fall 2013 on Block Island

Our friends Sarah and Stefaan have spent the past year traveling the world and photographing every stop of their journey for their visual diary Miles & Miles. Their travels took them from sacred Buddhist temples in Cambodia to the highest climbs of Africa and everywhere in between.

For our fall Lotuff lookbook, we asked them to head somewhere a bit closer to home--the tiny island of Block Island about 7 miles off Rhode Island's coast. With our bags in tow, they explored the island right after the summer crowds had gone back to the mainland but before the island had turned too frigid.

"It's beautiful all year, but especially in the fall. The crowds are gone, the streets are empty, and the weather is perfect," they write. "Summer's warmth lingers in the ocean temperature and if you're lucky, you'll get some good surf and epic beach days." The  Working Tote made the perfect picnic beach bag, and the Leather Backpack was a carrying companion fit for coastal hikes.
