Each design and construction decision is made with the longevity of the bag in mind. Many bag handles are faux-double stitched, with the second stitch not fully stitched through and mostly just there for decoration.
To double stitch our handles, we go through another full round of stitching once the handle has been folded. It is an incredibly difficult process because it requires the utmost human precision to keep the second stitch in perfect line on a folded handle. But a handle that is strong and lasts for years is worth the extra effort.
